VisionOS 2 is currently in testing and we know about the new features it offers.

But what missing features would you like to see added in future releases of VisionOS?

I’ll start 😇

• App Folders - just like the iPad apps folder.

• Exposé - Double click Digital Crown exposé my open apps.

• Right Click contextual menu - tap middle finger and thump.

• iPhone App - let me use the keyboard on my iPhone screen for visionOS input, kinda like Apple TV remote.

• Let me connect to my Mac via an app like the new iPhone/Mac feature. I would love to keep my Mac in its bag but use it.

• Workspaces - let me create workspaces and save them, home, work etc.

• Let me see the time/date permanently (like my other Apple devices).

• Make panoramic photos 3D.

What else is missing?

I think it's an embarrassment at this point that basic Apple apps such as Calendar, Home, Contacts, Pages, Numbers, etc are not yet visionOS native.

They were really struggling to get this out of the door. My fear is that we won't see any new native apps until visionOS 3, which would be bad. They should focus the next minor versions on bringing over all the apps, before they do anything else.

Just kidding, they will bring the Calendar app as the only new app in visionOS 3...

Imagine the cool stuff they could’ve done with an app as simple as books. Reading Harry Potter? Read a book with the style of that world inside Hogwarts all.

Or just normal environments to read in. A fancy library. On George Clooney lap. Something.

It’s crazy how little they’ve done for just the most basic apps. Seems like they should’ve given it the Apple vision touch to show how different of a product it is instead “hey you can open the same iPad app. But on a screen touching your eyeballs”

Completely agree. I was hoping they would add to the Photos app so you could do a full room of photos that could move around much like the existing Slideshow but in AR. There’s so much they could do.

The ability to make and take phone calls like I can from my WiFi only iPad

More native Apple apps instead of the iPad versions

The ability to use the AVP to authenticate with your phone when you have it on instead of having to remove it to use FaceID. While you can use your passcode to get into the phone if you open up an app and need to authenticate instead of having to enter a username and a password I’ve found no way to be able to do that with the passcode and have to take off the AVP. It’s annoying.

AppleTV style profiles so other users can put on the device and not have to go through the guest mode eye and hand setup including the ability for each user to be logged into their own iCloud account, to have their own desktop layout, etc as you can in the AppleTV. Since both visionOS and tvOS are based on iOS and it’s all there in tvOS I’d think this wouldn’t be as difficult as having to start from scratch would be.

A visualizer for listening to music with different styles of 3d animations.

It took years to bring the calculator app to iPad OS cause they didn't want to be seen as a lazy blown up iPhone app. Going to take years to bring those stock iPad apps to vision pro.

Falls in like with those articles that said insiders at apple working on the Vision Pro said the product isn’t gonna hit its stride until the 3rd or 4th gen. 3 years per gen. 4 gens Later? 12 years? Sounds about right
