Just got off the phone with the Apple Business department at our local store. A few "inside" details not yet revealed or clarified:

• The Vision Pro, despite it's Pro moniker, is currently classified by Apple as a consumer product, and thus ineligible for order through the business department.

• The Business team found this surprising, because they are getting an extremely high level of interest from local business customers. They asked me a series of questions about my use cases for Vision Pro to run up the ladder for consideration.

• The lens prices were clarified to be for the SET of lenses, not individual. This may have been assumed by some, but was not explicitly clear on the website.

• Each store is sending a group between now and the 19th to Cupertino for training, that will be reporting back and training their store members. Business teams should be able to provide additional info about Apple Vision Pro to Business customers prior to purchase on the 19th.

• The person I spoke with expressed that there was a high degree of focus placed on the fit of the device, and making sure the Light Seal was properly fitted in store with customers.

Some interesting details. I do feel some of these decisions are with the view of limiting initial demand, and also returns, of the device.

Insisting on in store pickup with an appointment and fit for example will limit the number of scalpers, and those who would get it on their credit card and return in 14 days.

Thank god the lenses are for the set. That makes the $3,500 price tag sting less.

Ahh yes, that was another detail they confirmed: the 14 day return policy does apply to Vision Pro. The person I spoke with seemed to be aware of the possibility of a higher than usual return rate.

I look forward to a lens-free adjustment that takes place at the screen/software level in a future version of the Vision Pro, but it's good to know the lenses won't be priced like RAM.
