Vista and Two different brand video cards?

Hello all. I have a 2008 MacPro and currently run two identical ATI Raedon 2600's. I would like to upgrade one of the cards to the new EVGA 285 in a few month. I have heard that Windows Vista dose not accept two or more cards that are from a different maker. I am wondering if this is true? I hope it's not. The reason for the upgrade if you are wondering is because, I need a more powerful card to run Maya and Cinema 4d and a few other programs. I don't want to get two because of the cost of course.

I don't think that this is true. Windows supports different video card all the time as many machines have onboard video (supplied by Intel) and an additional ATI or NVidia card too. As long as you have the correct drivers installed you shouldn't have a problem with this.

From what I've heard it's true although I never tried it, Microsoft decided to drop support for different graphic card brands on one machine for Vista.

However you can use multiple graphic card brands if you run Windows XP or install Windows 7.

No, you can't use both at once if you have two different brands, but you can use a nvidia card even if you machine has an intel integrated graphics.
