I hope someone can help.

I have a MBP C2D 15" ATI X1600. I am running Vista 32-bit. I want to use my 19" gateway LCD either as main or extended desktop. I am running the newest bootcamp drivers.

When I connect the external monitor and set "Extend my desktop to this monitor" in vista I just get a blank screen. I can move my mouse off screen as though it jumps to the other monitor, but I can't see a thing. I've tried changing the resolution as well. If I close the lid on my MBP then it should default to the external and I believe it is, but I again I can't see anything.

Now... I have looked for solutions on this before.. and there IS a tutorial to fix it, but it requires going into the ATI catalyst control panel to modify a checkbox which I don't have nor have I had even while running XP off my MBP. When I click advanced under display properties I don't get any ATI specific tabs, yet there are other MBP owners that do have them. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers a few times.

Anyone with the MBP's right before SR have this issue?

Sidenote: What are those MBPs referred to? The ones before SR?

Thanks

I have a SR macbook pro, and have the same issue.. My cinema display just black.. i am looking for a fix, but no luck so far

Ended up using the modtool from driverheaven.net

Instructions here
http://www.driverheaven.net/modtool/

Now I have the latest ATI drivers, a working Catalyst Control Panel and a working external monitor. The advanced 3D settings work perfectly too.
