Hi, im running vista on my macbook pro and the only real problem im having is that the audio stutters alot. also when i plug my headphones into the headphone socket i get this weird processor whine type sound which disapears once i unplug them. Im pretty sure its to do with the audio drivers, i know lots of people are having this problem but i couldnt find any info on a fix for it.

actually i did find something which might be related, a problem involving stuttering when people were using xp [xp never had any stuttering for me]. Some site suggets the following...

¨Open ‘Control Panel’ and double click on ‘Intel(R) GMA Driver for Mobile’ choose ‘Display Settings –> Power Settings’ and then uncheck ‘Intel(R) Display Power Saving Technology’. Click ‘Apply’ followed by ‘OK’ and that should be it.

This problem is apparently caused by the Intel GMA screen power save mode, so disabling this mode should resolve the problem.¨

my problem is i dont know how to do this in vista as there is no ¨Intel(R) GMA Driver for Mobile’ panel in vistas control panel.

If anyone knows how to stop the stuttering or has any other suggestions then please let me know as the stuttering is driving me abit mental [i do alot of audio based work...]

thanks:)

I also had sound problems going from RC2 to the RTM version of Vista. What I ended up doing was uninstalling the Sigmatel drivers in the Device Mgr window and then going to the Bootcamp Macintosh drivers directory under C:\Program Files\... (for extracting those files, that can be found everywhere ... look for extracting Bootcamp msi in Vista) and reinstalling Bootcamp 1.1.2's Sigmatel driver. That worked great.

vista on a mac!

ugh...what is this world coming to!!!! :)

how dare you! :)

ok..enough of my friendly barbs. i think the other post about visiting a pc vista related forum might help. might also be too soon for suggestions given it's release for the business community...might not be enough people on it.

good luck.
