According to a Reuters report, Bill Gates gives us an 80% chance of seeing Vista out on time in January of 2007.

Is it me or is that down from a 100% chance of having the consumer version out in January after they missed the original December target?

Really, I suppose this whole thing doesn't really affect me, but it's become such a guilty pleasure to watch the target date creep back over and over, it would almost be a relief to see the thing let loose:

Billy Zane: No, you rock. When you gonna drop Magnum on us, buddy?
Derek Zoolander: Not yet. You gotta tame the beast before you let it out of its cage.

Im sure Vista (or the next Windows OS) was already due out by now.

Or over a year ago.

You know I think it would be SO funny if say for example Steve announced Leopard at MWSF but right before he was like:

"We were going to release Leopard today but we are going to delay it's release by six months to finish it up.

Oh and we are going to drop a few features to finish in time....

just kidding, it's done, ships today and is fully featured."

That would be amazing.

I would love nothing more than for this to happen.
