Vista runs sooo COLD on MPB.

It's cool and fast...I am running WoW, installing itunes, Ventrilo, Firefox and my HD temp is 45C, Core 1,2 = 47C ,48C.

I can't even idle at 55C in OSX.

yes vistas also very hot on my MBP core duo, i rekon it nearly gets up to around 70 C… can anyone recommend any fan apps for windows that will be able to use boot camp's fan drivers? something like smc or fancontrol on OS X? thanks

I would be interested in knowing a programs for my mac in vista, Mine runs so hot in sometimes that i think i could fry an egg on my case.

i didnt use any fan software, although i use speed fan to check temp, it could not detect the fan speed. My vista idles around 37c, just a tad higher than my old dell inspiron. Mabe i just got a really nice thermal paste, too bad i am returning it for yellow screen

I wish my Vista ran cold. I seldom hear the fans in OS X but they seem to kick in a lot in Windows.

I doubt something like this exists, for the reason that control drivers are very specific, and programs like smc exist because OSX obviously has the drivers. My speculation for the high temperatures on vista is because the OS doesn't control them and the PC runs them more often to compensate.

When I had Vista Home Premium on my MBP I too found that it ran "cold" and was very responsive. I was actually pleasantly surprised. But I found it inconvenient to reboot all the time so I took it off.

Are you kidding me?

My MBP (2.33 T 7600) runs Vista super hot - and the other thing it does is run through a battery in no time -

Are you running Aero? - I just turned it off, and I'll see what impact that has on the heat

Don't get me wrong - my MBP is a superfast Vista machine - but it does run hot, and it does churn through battery life.

Does anyone know if SP1 might help address some of these issues?
