Vista trial

Does anyone know of a free trial of Vista? I just want a Legal trial of vista for my MacBook Pro via BootCamp. I found this on Microsoft's website: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...37-d4d1-4b9b-926d-86493c7da1aa&displaylang=en .... Will this work through BootCamp. If so, please explain how. Thanks a lot!

if you get a CD of the installer or even download it without the crack that is the only way i know how to get a legal trial of vista

Yes, any downloaded version of Vista will work as a trial if you were to put no key when the installer asks you for one. So basically you can get a hold of a Vista dvd from a friend, put no key, select Ultimate, and you will be able to run Vista Ultimate for a duration of 30 days. Once that 30 day period is up you will need to get a legitimate key...

Not sure if this will work via boot camp or even with SP1 for that matter, but here is a little trick that I know will work with Vista minus sp1.

(What do you call an OS prior to a service pack?)

You go to:
Start > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt. Then type slmgr -rearm and hit enter.

It will "rearm" your trial for another 30 days. Meaning, make a note in iCal to do it when you have 2 days remaining. You can "rearm" up to three times.

It's really for IT managers who are in the process of getting "proper" license or something like that. It doesn't even violate the EULA.

I'm almost positive they disabled this in Vista SP1. Could be wrong, but I know Microsoft was less than enthusiastic when all the downloaders figured that little trick out.

I'd say your best bet is to find a copy of Vista, install it and do your 30 day test drive. After the repeated headaches and occasional nosebleed, you'll come running back to OS X. Problem solved
