macOS Visual Basic Project

hello again people,
ok ive got a huge project for information systems that we are making in Visual Basic Studio 2005 and i want to know if there is anyway to open it on my ibook
any suggestions are welcome
please help me its due tomorrow

i havnt left it to the last minute i just want to do some other stuff to do with visual basic and i want to open my project do i can make a log of work (which may help me get extra marks)

However, I still wouldn't count on getting any work done. I've tried to use VB on a PowerPC-based Mac in the past, and it's a nightmare.

not fussed about the useability of the program and all i need is to get screen shots of the work

You'll need an emulator such as Virtual PC (which it sounds like you don't have, and it costs a lot) or Q (which is free). You'll also need a copy of Windows to install inside that emulator. Once you've got that, you'll be able to install and use VB as if you were on a Windows computer, albeit slowly.

would i be able to run vista in either of these emulators?
and is there a tryout of Virtual PC because ive use it before ?

It's possible to run Vista in Virtual PC, I don't know about Q. I'm not aware of a trial version of VPC.

Use a PC. If you have to ask how to develop VB on a mac and you can't find the answer yourself, you shouldn't be doing it.

Fork out the money for RealBASIC and develop it on RealBASIC.

E.g. Window1.Caption = "My Window Name Here"
E.g. EditField1.Text = EditField1.Text + "0"

Plus you can then make the Application for OS X, OS 9, Windoze, and Linux all on one platform!

That's not much use if he has to make it in VB.NET 2005, is it?

You can just ignore the project file and edit the source files by hand. Then since VB in Studio 2005 is simply .NET you can use Mono to do the compiling and running.

I've used Mono with great success in the past. I'm not sure, however, how good VB support is in Mono YMMV.

Return it. Buy a cheap PC for the same price and run Visual Studio natively. You're going to hate using Virtual PC on Mac OS X.

Especially on a 933MHz iBook. I gave up on VS on my old 933 iBook back in the day.

Still, if you have the patience then it'll work.

295Mhz (or so it claims) in Windows XP - heck my 350mhz ran way faster than the 295mhz virtual.
Windows 98 runs slower than XP
Windows ME (do we have to say any more?) ... ok ME is just a BSOD Application that takes up X gigs on your hdd. Ask anyone/everyone who owns it.
Yeah... visit http://www.walmart.com/ for a good priced, cheap PC, just BYOD (bring your own display)
