iPod Visual quality of C4 shows bought very poor?

We downloaded some of the Black Books episodes from iTunes last week to view via Apple TV. However, the quality of them seems to be noticeably lower than shows we've bought from the BBC. At the end of the Black Books shows you get the 4OD (their on demand service) logo, so I'm assuming they've just re-encoded their 4OD shows to work with Apple and the results aren't great.

I'm now loathe to spend money on any more C4 stuff if the quality is going to be as bad, so I was wondering if anyone else has noticed this problem?
