Well, my favorite media player for Mac OS X has become insanely gr8! :)

Finally this version supports Dolby Digital over my Logitech Z-680 speakers connected to my G5 via optical out!

I am so happy! I have some MPEG 2 encoded HD (1080 and 720) movies, which are now perfectly Dolby 5.1 supported!

I'm having some problems with VLC at the moment.... :(

for some wierd reason, QuickTime 7 won't play most the AVI i have, but VLC will play them all. dunno why, but its ok.

The audio is the problem for me tho.... i use a Digi 002R (Pro Tools stuff). iTunes and every other app use this output with a special DigiDesign CoreAudio manager program and it sounds great.

With VLC tho, if you select the audio output as CoreAudio, it only comes out in Mono (left channel only) and the sound is quite distorted.

Dunno what the deal is but its annoying. Anyone got any ideas or advice to get this wierd problem sorted? as i said, iTunes, DVD Player, Quick Time etc all use this same method of audio out, but all work great. Its just VLC....

any help would be great! thanx alot in advance :)
