I used VLC to convert a DVD to mp4 yesterday (H.264+AAC). I tried playing it on my computer in VLC and it played fine. I changed the extension to m4v and imported it into iTunes and played it on my AppleTV. The AppleTV did not play the sound track, the video was stuttering and shaking. I tried playing it in iTunes (QuickTime) same thing as AppleTV. But VLC plays it fine. I find it hard to believe VLC isn't converting something uncompatible with Apple Products as someone would have found this bug, but does anyone know how I can fix it? Would an another encode from mp4 -> mp4 (hopefully that won't take long) using different software do the trick. Or do I need to just use other software with the DVD.
Also its not the DVD source that causing this error, I tried using VLC to convert FLV - MP4 (same settings) and the AppleTV produced stuttering I figured it was because of the FLV but now I realise its the file VLC outputs.
Thanks in advance.
