VLC & Sierra

Since installing Sierra, every time I have a LiveStreamer (Twitch) stream open thru VLC, my 13" rMBP is now noticeably hotter than it was before. Anyone else see an increased CPU usage from using VLC in general, or in this manner?

It hovers around 45% CPU usage which I really don't know if that's higher than before.

VLC does not make it run hotter for me. Do you have the latest version of VLC? And which version of Sierra are you running?

Is twitch through VLC really necessary nowadays when they have native html5 video?
