I'm running a CMP 5,1 on Monterey 12.4 using OCLP. Booting from an Apple PCIe SSD, dual Xeon x5675, 48gb RAM (6x 8gb sticks), RX580 8GB.

I get absolutely awful performance for any VM solution I'm using. From Parallels to VirtualBox to any number of various Android solutions. Any clues, suggestions, etc?

Danke!

I used to use my quad core 2.8GHz 5,1 with Virtual Box. It has 32GB of memory and I can't re all the version of macOS I was running. It worked great with no performance issues.

At this time I can't offer suggestions other than to say it's quite capable for running VMs.

Specifically what performance issues are you experiencing?

I had an awful experience using QEMU with a 5,1. Windows 10 took over 2 hours to install, and the thing was overheating like crazy. All I can say is to use a different software... when I switched to VirtualBox it ran MUCH faster.
