VMs on Beta 2

So ever since I upgraded to Beta 2 my VMs are only running on 1 virtual core (of 8). The CPU percentage for the VM averages around 150% on my Mac but the but there's nothing running on the VMs and their CPU usage is running relatively low. Before the upgrade the VM process was spread across 4 virtual cores (1,3,5,7). It doesn't matter if I use VMWare Fusion (6.0.4) or Parallels (10), I have the same issue. I have even changed the number of cores the VM is allowed to access.

Has anyone else had this issue?

Keep in mind these virtualization apps are dependent on kexts, they're more integrated with the kernel in OS X. That means while it is not expected for majority of the apps to break apart for each OS X version, these virtualization apps are expected to break easily and needs a proper update for each OS X version.

With that aside, your issues need to be reported to Parallels and VMWare, so they can fix it. I haven't seen any issues after the most recent Parallels 10 update, they've made a lot of improvements in that update. I'm seeing 0-10% CPU usage from two VM instances on top of DP6 (identical to PB2).

What application are you using Vmware Fusion, Parallels (which version?) or Virtual Box?

And that's why I was wondering if anyone else was seeing these issues. I did not see any reason to report to Parallels or VMWare about it if I am the only one. I moved to a trial of Parallels after I found my VMWare Fusion did not work in Yosemite. Parallels 9 and 10 ran fine in Yosemite PB1 but when I updated to PB2 I noticed none of my VMs will utilize more than 1 virtual core.

Both Parallels and VMWare are up to date.

Report them anyway, the more info they can get, the better prepared they'll be on the launch date.
