well i feel comfortable using the word upgrade as its direct quote from the vmware team

Yes, but Pat Lee also called it an update. If they have decided to call it an upgrade it is only for marketing purposes, it makes far more sense to call it an update. It's really no better than any of the Parallels updates anyway, so to say that Parallels charges for upgrades and VMWare doesn't is misleading. I can guarantee that the VMWare Fusion 2.0 upgrade will not be free.

Thanks for the news, just upgraded to 1.1. I think VMware Fusion is better than Parallels Desktop, I've used both for some time now and just prefer the way Fusion handles things.

Anybody have bootcamp problems with Fusion 1.1? Like the ones on VMWare's forums. It makes me hesitant to update :(

There's a few posts on Fusion corrupting their bootcamp partitions. Although if I read right it isnt happening to everyone.

Just would like to know before I do update (I want DX 9 support :D)

I had no problems updating and didn't notice any of those posts until after I had already successfully updated.

Ok.. Well.. I went ahead and had no problems. Yay! :D

But DX9 Support still kinda sux. My Steam games (Half Life, Counter Strike 1.6, etc., no source games though) don't work right. :(

Same here. Used Parallels for a bit (pre 3.0 release) and just installed VMWare Fusion and love it. It works very well for what I need it for. And it's fast... dang fast.
