I'm using VMWare Fusion 8.5 to create a virtual machine of OS X Mountain Lion to run some legacy software. I cannot make it create a VM of larger than 40GB which is the default.
I have gone to the VM settings, and I click the HD icon, and I slide the bar to increase GB from 40GB to a higher value. And it says it is done. But when I run the VM, the capacity of the VM remains at 40GB.
Any suggestions?

I stumbled upon the answer.
When creating the OSX VM, at the point where you start the install process, instead of going straight to the install - I clicked on the Disk Utilities and increased the partition to the desired size.
