Is there a trick to getting the Cisco VPN client to work under VMware Fusion (XP Pro)? I got it to "connect" to my employer's network. But I am not able to access/ping any of my employer's network resources. The Cisco VPN client says connected.

I would prefer to connect with the VPN client built into Mac OS X but it won't even "connect".

What am I doing wrong?

The firewall I'm trying to VPN to is a Cisco PIX 515.

has this been resolved?

i have exactly the same issue: xp vpn says it is connected within the xp vm, but still i cannot access any website nor ping anything.

using mac vpn on the mac host and putting fusion in NAT mode is NOT the solution to this problem (yes, it does channel the vpn signal through). we are talking BRIDGE mode and xp vpn in the guest os AND the fact that vpn says it is happily connected.

macvault, what was the latest?

Vmware Doesn't Work for Me

I've had the same problem with being able to connect, but not able to access any company resources. I had to switch to Parallels. I now use Parallels (v3.0 I think) in 'shared' network mode, and I have no problems whatsoever. In fact, so far I think I like Parallels a little better. I had minor issues setting up the virtual machine, but after that it has worked perfectly.

Hope this helps. It certainly makes life a lot easier not having to reboot every time you need to check your company email.
