I work primarily with video playback of all formats, however the most common is .wmv

I would like to use one of the above mentioned programs to run windows on my MBP. I know they just introduced 3D support, however how is the 2D Graphics with both of these?

Hoping to run XP Pro SP2. What would you recommend?

Parallels was fine for video playback for me back when I used it. That was using Windows Media Player 11.

Game play in Parallels? Not going to happen as of yet. I haven't got parallels anymore, I was running it pretty much back when it was first released and it played video just fine.

But game play requires direct x support and at the moment the most current version of parallels only suppports direct x 8.1 I believe. They're reportedly working to improve it in the next version. But if you want to do gaming, you're better off with Bootcamp and running parallels for everything else.

However simple 2D games might work passably, I never got any to even run however.:(

parallels is a lot faster for video than vmware, I've tested both. In VMware even the mouse looks jerky, like its only showing every second frame. And I have a mac pro so it shouldn't really be a speed issue.
