to add:
I Archived and installed leopard today.
Basically, last night, in Tiger, I booted VMware to guide someone through something. It was doing fine, but alerted me that VMware tools was not installed, which was odd, because I did install it. Whatever I think, and installed it. It asks me to restart, which of course I do, because I have no other option, and it's VMware, takes seconds. I reboot, it shows the window screen, then immediately pluses a quick BSOD, the only part I could make out was "FATAL ERROR", and it reboot looped. So I killed VMware, and went on with my day. Today, I installed leopard, and afterwards booted bootcamp. DISK ERROR! That sucks, but all I had on it was games, so I went to the new bootcamp utility, formated, and rebooted. Windows did it's thing, as a FAT32 (32gb) partition. It reboots to continue the installation, DISC ERROR! I tried multiple times, with both FAT32 and NTFS, they always say disc error. I don't wish to completely wipe my machine, as Time Machine alone copied 150GB of data upon first leopard boot.
I am using what I know is a working copy of windows, as I was using it before. I NEED to play TF2. Any help you can provide is much appreciated.
P.S. If I do end up wiping my machine, and putting leopard back on, if I plug in my time machine drive, will it do it's thing (make my machine as it was when I wiped it) automatically, and without fail? I only have one external hdd big enough to hold all of it, and if it fails, and I wipe my machine, it's ALL gone. ALL 10k RAW photos.....
