i just set up a vnc server on my pc last night, and it works great, but everytime i run the viewer on my pb, it makes some strange really high pitched buzzing noise. it very quiet, quieter then the fans on my pc, but it is so high pitched that it hurts my ears after a few minutes.

i'm running RealVNC as the server on the pc, and VNCViewer on my powerbook.

has anyone had this problem, or know how to fix it?

i get the same noise sometimes while typing. it's weird. it's faint though, not real loud, but it is very annoying. it's like a squeaking noise but it's not coming from the keys.

Are either of your powerbooks plugged in when this happens? Unplug it and see if it continues.

i've tried but i can never recreate it. i'll check next time it happens and follow this thread.
