I'd like to know if it's possible to use the mac mini as a voice amplifier. I give presentations using a mac mini and would like to wear some kind of bluetooth headset and have my voice come out of the attached speakers. Can this be done?

As long as Mac OS can see the mic as a normal audio input, even something as simple as LineIn would do the job.

Yes, you will need Quick Time Pro, a bluetooth headset (for one with a decent microphone, check out the B&O Earset 2), and a decent pair of speakers to connect to the Mini, or an amp of some sort.

Although having said that, somebody would need to confirm that bluetooth headsets can be used as a standard Audio Input device...

Ok, I have quicktime pro and I understand how to record audio, but I don't want to record it. I want my voice going out through the speakers in real time. Not sure how to do this using quicktime pro.

Thanks, I think that Line In was exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for the help.

You can use QuickTime Pro to relay an input through the outputs (live time software monitoring it's called).

Sorry, how do I acutually do this? I can't find anything in Quicktime Pro's help menus on "live time software monitoring". How do I initiate the process?

Thanks for the help.
