Hello guys !

I have a problem with FaceTime calls with people complaining my voice is cutting and I cannot find a way around.
This is the typical setup where the problem arise :
FaceTime call on my Mac, using my AirPods Pro BUT using the microphone of the MacBook Pro for better quality.
When I use the AirPods Pro microphone no problem everything works fine.
If I switch to the Mac microphone the person tells me the sound is better but is cutting a lot on his side when I am talking.

I tried to boost the microphone gain in Settings, or to switch between standard and voice isolation mode, nothing seemed to solve the issue.

I made a test calls in Microsoft Teams : all works fine, no cuts
I made a test with the voice memo app : all works fine, no cuts

So it is definitely a problem only in FaceTime, any similar experience on your side ?

It seems I found out what the issue is.

When using the Mic and speakers of the MacBook Pro : no issue
When using AirPods Mic and speakers : no issue
When using the MBP mic and the speakers of the AirPods : sound is cutting for the other person.

Seems there is a strange sound management when mixing MBP and AirPods.
