I started a thread over in Tips/Help, but only got one reply, so I thought I'd give this forum a shot instead.
I've been using Voice memo (iPhone 3GS) to record my band rehearsals. It's quite loud, so the VU level meter is almost constantly at it's highest point, but I occasionally (strangely) see it not moving and at -20. I figured this was a bad sign, and indeed, when I went back and listened to the recordings, I noticed that the sound randomly drops out and I'm left with silence.
Does this happen to anyone else?
I tried iTalk to verify the problem was not with Voice Memo, and it does the same thing.
In case it's unclear what I mean, it's like this as an example:
LOUD music... sudden stop, silence for 30 seconds...click...silence....sudden LOUD music again. Lasts for the whole recording. The silence is sudden, we didn't stop playing music. The silence can last anywhere from a few seconds to minutes before the sound resumes again.
Since my iPhone is only a month old, I figured I'd call Apple about this, but if I can get any helpful replies here first, that would be great!
Thanks
