Voice memos STILL showing up in iTunes library

I figured with the new Voice Memos app that this idiotic behavior would cease, but after syncing my iPhone once again the voice memos have shown up in iTunes.

Is there anyway to disable this completely useless behavior? I want voice memos to stay within the app and on iCloud, and NOT end up in iTunes.

That's been unchecked for years yet they still show up. It's one of those long-standing bugs that I've reported a few times and was hoping to finally see gone with iOS 12 but nope.

Sounds like an iTunes bug.

This drives me nuts too. It's insane that Voice Memos are synced with iTunes in the first place, and I think it's a holdover from back when you had to manage everything with iTunes. But at this point, now that Voice Memos are synced via iCloud Drive, here's no reason for this.

And yeah, it's a long-standing and lame bug. I've had this unchecked forever and it does nothing.



It's absurd. And it's potentially very embarrassing because I use iTunes as our household jukebox basically. I now have to use another app to make voice memos.

Apple likes to make some bugs last for months or even years sometimes like the option in iTunes to start a song alongside of the previous one who ends. It didn’t work properly for months and they never fixed this.
