voice typing using google gboard fails on whatsapp

In general, typing with Google Gboard on my iphone 13 pro, ios 15.4, works fine. However, I face a major problem while using Gboard voice typing with Whatsapp. Gboard seems to detect my dictation but fails to transfer the detected text back to Whatsapp. In contrast, Gboard voice typing works fine with all other Apple, Google and other vendors' apps I used.

Googling this issue yielded very few posts/discussions. I tried all advices. None of them worked!
Any thoughts on this issue?
Any ideas of where else to look for educated answers?
Whatsapp support wouldn't help claiming its not their problem!

Sounds like a WhatsApp issue. You could always use the stock Apple keyboard.

Gboard automatically detects the spoken language. Apple doesn't.
Gboard provides haptic touch. Apple doesn't...
Just two of the many other reasons for using Gboard

Is this something you're trying for the first time or have you used Gboard successfully in this manner with WhatsApp in the past?

It's the first time on iphone. I have long used Gboard voice typing with Whatsapp on various Android phones.
