i have a question here. I wanna chat with my friends in overseas and should i buy the mic with earphone or its not necessary? coz i think my macbook air comes with built in mic. Is the sound quality will be better if i am using additional mic use for chatting or is the same ? sometimes i wanna play guitar and let my friends there can hear me clearly. please advice me.

One of my friends uses the built in mic with Skype, and he must trust the quality of the mic and think it's decent because he uses Skype-phone as a replacement cell phone.
I think the built-in audio-in is OK in a pinch. A great accessory is a USB headmic from say, LogicTech.
On the until-recently phased out MacBooks, there tends to be some background noise because the Mic picks up the fan noise. On MBA's, I'm not sure how that sounds, especially on the 2nd Gen's which tend to have a lower fan speed for overall usage.
