Spend the money I currently have on a:

Refurbished Mac mini 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
1GB memory
120GB hard drive
SuperDrive (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)
Intel GMA 950 graphics processor with 64MB of DDR2 memory
With 22" Dell Monitor with built in web cam

OR

Continue to save my pennies for a:

Refurbished iMac 24-inch 2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
24-inch glossy widescreen display
2GB memory
320GB hard drive
8x SuperDrive (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)
ATI Radeon HD 2600 PRO with 256MB memory
Built-in iSight Camera

All I do is use internet, word processing, photos, videos, music...just basic stuff. I'm leaning toward the iMac. Thanks for being my voices of reason!!!

Well honestly the Mac Mini is more than enough for your needs.

But how long would it take you to raise up the money for the refurb iMac?
A few weeks? months?

Yeah if you're not editing or playing any games, the mini should be fine.
The iMac is really sexy though. I'd say, unless you NEED to upgrade now, if it won't set you back too far, save for the iMac.

If you can easily afford each, then go for whichever one you think will be better. The mini will suit your needs, but the iMac just feels like the better machine of the two. If you won't be knocked all that far back by the extra money in the purchase then get the iMac.

Haha.
Go to the Apple Store (Not right now, it's madness) and grab a Mac Mini and set it right next to an iMac 24inch.

That will decide for you. ;)

By the way, I voted for the iMac.

imac for sure. quality of the screen for movies and photos will be a lot better. and if you end up deciding that you want to do more with your computer the imac will be the best choice.
