Like, if I have a blue desktop wallpaper the HUD will be blueish, even though I have many applications layered on top of the desktop (and the top-level window will also help tint the HUD). Is it really supposed to be like that? To me it seems like a logical inconsistency, that the "glass" can take simultaneously color from what's right beneath and something that's hidden at the bottom.

Do others experience the same thing?

Mine are using what is directly behind it like you would expect. Have you tried restarting?
