Is there a way to easily change the volume (not the ringer) on my iPhone SE 2020 from the lock screen?

When not listening to music (or other sounds) the volume side buttons only control the ringer volume. However, I would like to be able to change the "general" volume directly from the lock screen even when there are no music (or other sounds) are being played.

Thanks.

You can try disabling the option related to the ringer and alerts at Settings > Sounds & Haptics > Change with Buttons to see if that might make a difference in relation to what you are talking about.

Thanks for the tip. This does change the function of the buttons from "Ringer Volume" to "Speaker Volume." There seems to be no possibility to have it in some way both.

In the meantime I also found an app "Volume Pro" which can save speaker volume presets (i.e. 75%) that can be used from within that app. Not as easy as the volume buttons, but certainly much easier than having to go through the settings.

When you have one button controlling 2 functions there has to be context to determine what function you are changing when pressing the button. For an iPhone the context is to change the ringer volume when nothing else is playing, or change the volume of what is playing if something is, unless you switch off the setting that you have switched off.
