So, running the Big Sur 11.1, on a M1 MBPRO.

The volume control icon keeps disappearing, after I reboot, every day or so i must go and enable it again.

So here is what I have done to troubleshoot:

1. Usual turn the show volume bar in sound preferences
2. Went to the menu bar options, selected sound, and always show.

So, also, I redownloaded Boom 3d, a few days ago, this removed the volume icon, i later deleted it as I delete any app from applications folder (because it sucked 3 years ago and sucks still now). Could this have caused it? Maybe there is bits of it still remaining somewhere? How does one do a proper clean on deleted apps anyway? :)))

You should have used Boom 3D built-in uninstaller. Your thinking is correct - there is something left behind.
I hope you can resolve your issue using the uninstaller provided here:

Also, if you have the Boom3D app still in the Trash then drag it out again and see if the AppCleaner application can help take more off:

I hope it goes great.

Actually, I downloaded the uninstaller, ran it, rebooted, volume icon now appears as normal! Thank you, very much. Is it worth at all this application, in your opinion? I found that it messed up my audio settings, took away control, and messed with Bluetooth audio devices when I'm in a meet call or something like that.

I have been there too; using Boom 1 and 3D also as part of SetApp I believe.. I didn't see any reason to continue using Boom or the Hear app - which also has audio boosting ability.
Instead I use a good pair of speakers with a subwoofer connected and adjust my music files with the built-in equalizer in Music or iTunes(equalizer I adjust for techno and dance music that could use a bit more 'oomfph' - although it isn't often that I engage the equalizer beyond the standard settings)

Or I put on my Denon headphones and enjoy music that way.

Same! I found effect/enhancement artificial and original sounds better, cleaner, more natural, to be fair, for a day at work, Macbook speakers are very decent, otherwise Creative T10's bought 1st year of college (That is almost 8 ears ago, and still good) or XB900ns will do.

There are standalone programs like AppZapper (https://www.appzapper.com) or a number of utility program's that scan for the other files installed by an app, and remove them. I have Sensei (https://sensei.app) which is nice, but a little expensive. You should probably take a look at AppZapper and test it out before deciding what to use....

I am also having this problem on m1 Mac, every couple of days it disappear, very very annoying, hard to believe a trillion dollar company can't get simple things like this right, especially at the prices they charge

+1 . I don't have Boom 3D ( never did ), but I have this same issue. I think it's happening when I disconnect my eGPU since several apps crash when I do that, even though I use the "disconnect eGPU" menu bar icon. That's my best guess atm.

I experience the same symptoms, the checkbox to show volume control on the menu bar gets unchecked, and I re-check it. That works until the next "crash".

Big Sur 11.2.3 on Macbook Pro 2019.
