Hi all,
So Soundcheck is still hit & miss with IOS 18. I have tried all I can to get my library sorted. Ivolume, re-encoding at a set db level (replaygain) and although it is better, it got me to thinking...

What if Apple Music Soundcheck had a slider where you could actually set what db level you want all your tracks to be played at? I think Apple sets Soundcheck to -14 LUFS (or something) at the moment. I would love to be able to set that manually?

Or does anyone have any suggestions on how to level my tracks, without compromising quality? (I am an apple music subscriber and have downloaded the "digital masters" for all matched songs in my library.

Take care all...

I like Sound Check...it seems pretty consistent and I don't have to keep adjusting the volume on my car radio track-to-track.

You could try using it in conjunction with the Late Night EQ preset, which is essentially a very soft compressor and is good at evening out levels. Personally, I use Acoustic, which gives things a nice boost.

Two different tracks playing at -14 LUFS can have different perceived loudness due to mastering and compression. Sound Check will never be able to fully compensate for this, and it isn't intended to.

I think my issue is more related to OCD hehe. My car stereo volume is at 15. Simply because the radio stations blast at you. And when i start the car, the radio station plays before my iphone connects to carplay. With soundcheck on, the apple music is much softer than the radio and I have the volume turned up to 20, 22 - so i am blasting the family out of the car when it starts and the radio station comes on. Was trying to find a happy medium where the radio and apple music are the same. But I wil try your suggestion of Acoustic. Thanks for responding

Radio stations are much louder than Apple Music in my car too, because of the heavy processing they use.
