I just got my iPhone 3G 8G today and I noticed that whenever I'm talking on the phone @ home, the volume is TOO LOW and I can barely here the other end. It might be because I have poor reception at my place (barely any bars) but everything still sounds clear, it's just that the volume is TOO LOW.

I tried using the earphones and with those, I can hear the other end fine so I don't think it necessarily has to do with the poor reception. Rather I feel like there's something wrong with the hardware/software of iPhone that's keeping my call volumes low.

Did anyone experience a similar thing and know how to fix it? Any help would be greatly appreciated. It's getting annoying scrambling to find my earphones to plug them into the iPhone every time someone calls me or when I make calls.

I noticed the same thing with my iPhone 3G 16GB, but I don't think there is any way to fix it until an update comes out. If the complaint is great enough, or if Apple acknowledges the issue, it should be addressed in a future firmware update.

not so much with the ear piece, but speaker phone is pretty much useless. wish they wold fix that

Guys, I am an idiot, ignore my original post.

The volume was low because it was still covered in the plastic wrap - major stupid moment for me when I realized this. I forgot that I left the original plastic wrap on because I want to wait until I receive my Bodyguardz order. :p
