Here(-ish)
There's already an extensive thread discussing screen protectors for the iPhone 7 & 7+, but I wanted to specifically discuss Edge-to-edge protoectors (3D edge preferably) and have a poll for people to vote on which ones they've tried and liked. Hopefully, this will help us crowd-source our favorites and eliminate the duds/marketing BS.

I can add poll options after the fact, but there are a limited number of options, so we'lol have to keep that in mind.

Here's my suggested format for brevity and clarity:

CHOETECH 3D Full Coverage Soft Edge
  • The Good: Easy to apply, scratch resistance, oleophobic coating, price, customer service.
  • The Bad: Glass unclear (color tint) and borders cover LCD edges.
  • Would I buy again? - No.

I'd also like to know which people prefer. I'm in the market for an edge-to-edge protector and want to know which is best.

Turata 3D Premium
  • The Good: Great Fit(Used both Evolutive Labs Crashguard and Incipio Dualpro), clear(no pixels blocked or tint), great oleophobic coating
  • The Bad: Adhesive around earpiece is non existent. Allows dust into camera and prox sensor windows.
  • Would I Re-purchase: possibly, price is decent and dust has not caused and usage issues yet. (But if I find one better I would pass)

amFilm sold by TechMatte
  • The Good: Clear screen, scratch resistance, Ok oleophobic coating, price (included a 2-part case), compatible with RhinoShield CrashGuard.
  • The Bad: Not quite full 3D-edge coverage as advertised (slight gap between edge and case), bezels slightly cover edge of LCD.
  • Would I buy again? Probably, yes, but not if I found something better for similar price.

Hi guys,

I have a BestSkinsEver skin on the back of my iP7 +. Will a 3D glass protector interfere with this at all?

the two on the left are Jelly Comb. if I remember correctly, the one on the SE is from Spigen.

these are the ones with the colored face/border. these are different than the typical ones in that it is not a one-piece tempered glass. it's like the screen is the tempered glass while the border is a second, plastic piece.

the good: though flimsy, the border is curved down. has excellent coverage and fitment. the rather flimsy edges won't chip or crack like typical edge-to-edge tempered glass screen protectors.

the bad: if you're doing white on black, you can see under the white (since it's almost translucent) where there is no adhesive. (I have yet to try my black-faced ones). doesn't seem to be scratch-resistant. the edges around the home button aren't as curved as on other protectors I've experienced (ie: Spigen's colored faced ones), but not at all bad. I've read other people complain about the seem between the screen and border, but I think that's just nit-picking. I can't find why that can be an issue.

would I buy again? they're cheap. why not?

edit: upon closer inspection, it's the screen piece and border piece that are held together by an adhesive film underneath...

whenever I take the previous glad protector off, I usually smack it before throwing it away just to see how much it takes. I was so surprised at how much smacking and how hard of a smack it took. I didn't get the 7 to crack yet, but the one for the Plus took several hard smacks to finally shatter. if only it were scratch-resistant, it be am awesome pick. think of it as the jet black and how easily it is to scratch that colored iPhone.

I think a more useful poll would be which ones you DIDN'T like.
I currently have the Icemax but I'm not crazy about it and would vote it on the negative side. Definitely leaning toward the Orzly.

Edge To Edge is not 3D curved.

I dont see a value in Edge to Edge except that it might work with more cases.
Recently had one on my phone...thought was 3D as it was advertised as such. When I took it off all kinds of junk under the edge.

Do you remember which one it was?

Are there any good edge to edge privacy ones?
The only one I saw on Amazon wa sthe Tech Armor glass one.

Don't buy it, it sucks hardcore. Not only is it only a 2-way privacy protector but it barely even fulfills that function. Still very visible from the sides at a 45 degree angle.

On top of that, it looks like they just applied a privacy film to the underside of one of their regular glass screen protectors. It doesn't fully cover the viewable are of the screen (small line around the area where the film is cut to fit the window) and it even raises the rest of the protector off of the phone by a mm or so.

And since the rest of the protector doesn't make contact with the phone they didn't bother putting adhesive on it. Which means dust and hair can easily get in that space and will eventually make it's way down to the screen itself and collect in that small viewable gap from where the privacy film is cut and applied to the window in the glass.

AVOID THE TECH ARMOR PRIVACY PROTECTOR AT ALL COSTS.

I'm talking about this one:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00STN78HS
or this one:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00STN7LWK

I use this one:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M1FB7SP
and this one:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LYISOI9

And not only do they do a fantastic job as a screen protector but they fit will and the installation material they give you to do a hinged install is top notch. I highly recommend it. If you have a case that has a decent lip on it your thumb should slide pretty easy on the edge as well.

I've heard very good things about the v2 of the Ice Max 3D for the iPhone 7. V1 was horrible. I'll be getting v2 in a few weeks (slow boat...) and if I like it I'll add to the poll.

CHOETECH 3D Full Coverage Soft Edge
  • The Good: Easiest application I've ever had of a screen protector, premium feel and packaging, cannot notice that it is on the screen aside from the slightly recessed home button, price is competitive - $8.
  • The Bad: Edges of screen can be slightly covered if you don't center the protector perfectly during application. Early variants of it had a terrible blue color tint issue. Has since been resolved.
  • Would I buy again? - Yep!

It's worth mentioning that the color tint issue has been resolved. Seemed to be an early manufacturing issue. Choetech automatically sent me two replacement screen protectors that are clear as can be.
