After chatting with arn a bit, I ultimately decided that the Mac community would probably be the best (and most interested) at helping to jumpstart FeVote (a new site/startup by Yours Truly):

FeVote: http://www.fevote.com/
Apple category: http://www.fevote.com/apple

FeVote is for submitting and voting on suggestions for various sites/services/products.

Right now you can submit and vote on suggestions for Apple and two specific Apple products:
  • Mac OS X
  • iPod
If you would like to post a few suggestions to get things going, I would really appreciate it.

I'll be lurking around to respond to everyone here, so please do ask questions! Comments are also very welcomed. :)

Thanks a bunch!

-Pat

so what do i actually do there?
Sign up, login, select "Apple", then submit any features requests, feedback, or general suggestions you might have for Apple and its products.

Once you see some suggestions posted, you can click on the "Vote" button next to other people's suggestions that you agree with. With more people participating, we will eventually get to see which suggestions come out on top.

I'll work on making the site more clear as to exactly what it's for. :)

Edit: Ah, and you can post comments to suggestions (kind of like forums) to help contribute/add-on your thoughts to suggestions.

Voice recognition so you can hum or sing a little part of a song you heard and have iTunes search a database and give you suggestions for what song it might be.
That's an awesome idea, Bobcat! I remember a while back one of the cell phone providers was going to debut something similar for purchasing ringtones. I think this would be great as an iTunes add-on.

Mind posting the suggestion to FeVote (;)) so it can get voted on later?

I fail to see how this is better than just providing Apple feedback through their own site. You can suggest features and make other feedback there:

Mac OSX suggestions/feedback
iTunes feature suggestions/feedback
Feedback and suggestions for other Apple products
I'll repost what I said in the iPod/iTunes thread:
The point of FeVote is to get a public list of top suggestions, as submitted/voted on by people; essentially, a 'petition' for feature requests. An individual letter won't carry much weight. A letter with a massive amount of signatures will.

Apple's feedback form is perfect for bug reports, but I think they're missing out on a whole lot of great feature ideas. Two examples, Yahoo! and Dell, have gotten great feedback/suggestions through public participation (submitting/voting): Yahoo!'s Suggestion Board, Dell's Ideastorm.

I'd like to try this for Apple.
I'd love to hear your thoughts. Thanks!
