vox player keeps losing media key bindings with every reboot

with 'vox preferences' installed, the media keys work for the vox player fine, until I reboot the macos10.15.2, then, voxplayer3.3.15 has lost the media keys, and I get that apple music piece starting up when pressing eg. the playbutton on the keyboard...once I fire up the vox preferences, the buttons work again.

hasn't been working properly for me in previous macos versions, either.

any ideas?
