i wish that VPC has some type of 3d acceleration don't care if its the weakest in the world

all i want to do is play this game gunbound

all it requires is 3d acceleration and thats it

for those who don't know about the game its like worms

I'd like full USB 1.1 support. Right now it has decent support of USB, allright for general devices like CompactFlash readers, but when it comes down to stuff like digital cameras, USB audio devices ect., It still has way too many problems to be used effectively. All i dream of is being able to USE a "real" audio card with Fruityloops running on VirtualPC, not just an emulated one.

Re: VPC 7 wish list

I wish someone other than Microsoft would be releasing it.

That being said, I will not be upgrading VirtualPC. I will hopefully no longer need it in a few months anyway. I use it very little now.

No way! Microsoft making it is good! very good... all their other software for macintosh is excellent.

Office, AOE1 AOE2, Etc etc

Apparently you haven't used MacIE5 lately or Mac WMP lately

I would just like it not to be slower than my Pentium 266Mhz computer. Hopefully now that Microsoft is doing all the work, it will be better. I doubt it though. Maybe if Microsoft if forced to use it in the Xbox2 to emulate the older games, it will decent.

I never said nor implied anything about the quality of the product. I just have no desire to hand Microsoft anymore money ever.

Yes, Suprisingly. I've found that running a tweaked copy of Win98 SE (Tweaked meaning heavily optimized) allows me decentley run Fruityloops (w/ some effects) on my 500mhz G3 Pismo. One of the only troubles though is that VirtualPC only has an "emulated" soundcard which takes a big toll on latency & stability. This is where I thought, wow, if i could get my USB soundcard to work over VirtualPC's USB interface, I'll be rockin'. I got damn close to working it out, yet it produces "distortion" in the audio signal. Even on a fast dual G4 it produces these results. So my only guess is that the USB support of VirtualPC needs some attention to be able to support USB Audio properly.

Its still fun though. For writing beats from scratch, fruityloops has NO rival.....there is just no Mac equivelant at all. I'm thinking once i get a 1ghz G3 installed in my Pismo, I'll get far better results, the L2 1Mb cache on the 750GX runs at fullspeed (1ghz), which should be great for VirtualPC emulation as the Pentium instructions are converted on-the-fly from CPU Cache.

I'd almost think MS would try something like integrating XP and VPC. It won't be entirely bad, but if they get full hardware support we'll be in business. Remember MS doesn't make computers, they make OSes. If they can get their OS to run decently (or super good) they will be able to cater their OS to a consumer that has been out of their reach. As for me, I'd like to be able to play some good ole' Half-Life or CS sometimes (which would have happened with RealPC, if their statement of a true Voodoo2 emualtion worked).

I'd also like to see better Multitasking with other Mac apps. In 10.2 I could do a plethra of things on OSX and have VPC running, now in 10.3 VPC slows my system to a crawl.

I still want Linux support

I would miss the ability to run Linux or older versions of Windows for legacy apps that don't run on XP. Perhaps a optimized XP/VPC and a generic and perhaps slower VPC for other stuff would be ok. The nail polish version of Windows 2000 called XP isn't the version of Windows I care about anyways.

Better Video Draw

the speed of everyhting is slow, but i can deal with that,, what bugs me, is teh windows drawing is so slow. windows take forever to materialize. IM runin a 1ghz 17 in PB with 1 gig of ram. Win XP and total optimizatio i can do

It definitely needs to have the ability to work on the G5. Improved communication between the Mac & PC, especially printing and to save your documents.

I'm with dudeami.

I am currently running VPC 6 with XP Pro on a 1 Ghz G4 with a Gig of RAM and it is unusable. I got it to test web and multimedia apps and guess what ... it doesn't. I hear people have better results with older versions of windows, but I can't even find Windows 98 anymore. Someone needs to start making the old DOS cards again -- except for XP. It makes me sick thinking I'll have to dole out more cash on a poopy PC when I just got VPC.

Go fast or go home.

Are you running Win98SE? what kinda Mac are you using? I actually would be happy if I get it to run as fast as a P266 on my 800 G3 iBook. I want to sell my old Pentium Pro 200 machine.
