Whenever I connect to my VPN, Safari does not load websites, it is just endlessly loading, and the progress bar stops at 1/4 the way. Other apps that use the Internet has the same issue.

I've tried reinstalling the configurations and the VPN app, but nothing has worked. My other Mac works just fine.

I suspect something in the files were altered or the settings in macOS were tampered with. Any suggestions?

ExpressVPN.

Yes, I have. Internet is blocked on all apps.

I had an issue with mine where there was an update and had to remove and reinstall to update it. Then it decided to work again. What’s Express‘ customer service said?

PIA is working as always, here. check system preferences>security & privacy>privacy, and make sure expressVPN has full disk access (& anything else it's listed under should also be checked).

or contact the developer...

I had the same issue today, on my Mac Studio + Monterey. Waisted close to an hour+ checking all configs, Turning off Firewall etc. Deleting and downloading new copy of ExpressVPN application. Tried many different VPN locations, tried several browsers – No luck. Also Mac Mail not receiving new emails. ExpressVPN application was blocking all incoming communications. As soon as turned it off, everything loaded. Turn it back on, blocked everything.

My Mac Pro next to it, on the same ExpressVPN subscription, worked flawlessly.

I even went into System Prefs > Security & Privacy > and Added the ExpressVPN application with "Allow incoming connections" ON. expressvpnd, lightway and openvpn were already added with "Allow incoming connections" ON. Still no luck.

I went back and deleted ExpressVPN application from the Security & Privacy list.

It worked. But I don't think that was the trick. I think Monterey and ExpressVPN is glitchy and buggy as hell.

My issue was caused by Apple Studio Display taking over as the main internet access. I later found out it was a known issue for ExpressVPN

Just happened again. No internet access when ExpressVPN is on :(
