VPNs and an Authenticator question

I am going to try to reinstall NordVPN on my phone Ive paid in advance, heck, might as well, yea I've read the pros and cons. Despite the HTTPS thing, I like sending all my traffic through their server, then out. Started to and must AUTHENTICATE a code. I used to use Google Auth.app, I believe it was free, but then read concerns about privacy. I saw one at $50 a year. Have no idea about its privacy. Google worked fine.

Do you guy's subscribe to a authenticator? My thoughts were "not another subscription?"

Subscribe? Gawd no. If you have an iPhone, it’s supported native in the Keychain (Passwords), but it’s not super obvious or intuitive. One very good standalone app for this is OTP Auth. There is a version of the app for Mac and iOS, and syncs via iCloud. And no subs!
