Hi Guys, About to return to the Mac after a 9 year lapse. Can't wait..... but my problem is this: I would like to get the stock 2.16 GHz MBP. However that only has 128 VRAM. I will probably not play any games on the laptop but will play DVDs and connect to a larger (24 inch) monitor.

Does the extra VRAM matter?

Thanks for any assistance. As I say, I cannot wait to come "home"....

For what you intend to use the Mac for, the extra VRAM won't make a difference at al.

My macbook with it's integrated graphics and 64MB of VRAM runs a 24" widescreen without any glitches or performance loss. I'm pretty sure the 128MB version of the x1600 could handle it just fine.

Yeah, don't sweat the extra VRAM. It's not going to do anything for you outside of gaming or other 3-D intensive work.
