A month back I posted a query here asking why Applejack wasn't working with OS Mountain Lion. The latest version of AJ was created in 2009.

Folks responded that AJ is no longer a valid tool. So, how do I clear up issues not addressed by Disk Utility and Disk Warrior? Such as cleaning out caches?

As stated, the utility Onyx can empty caches, should it be necessary to do so.

If you have some problem, then emptying caches might be a worthwhile step, but otherwise, you should leave them alone. Empty caches = slower Mac.
