w3580 vs w3570

Need some advice about upgrading my w3520 09 Quad Core. One would think that that the w3580 > w3570. But I found benchmarks that actually show the opposite: http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu_lookup.php?cpu=Intel+Xeon+W3570+@+3.20GHz

Anyhow, any reason to pick the w3580 still? I can get the 3570 for $70 cheaper.

I've never trusted those scores. How much do they cost (i.e. how much is that 70$ in %)?

Those synthetic benches are just stupid. In the exact same machine and identical applications, it's a no brainer that the 3580 will be faster.

I ended up getting a new w3570 from a system pull for $370. It would have been $100 more for the w3580 from the same guy. I can't wait to install the beast. Next 2 upgrades will be SSD and ATI 5770.

The most difficult part of the install was finding a long 3 mm hex key!! There was none at Home Depot or Lowe's. I had to order online. Everything afterwards was super easy!!! I was going to post pictures of the install but it is so easy a caveman could do it. I now have a 3570 to replace the 3520. Now I'm waiting for my 3 x 4 GB 1333mhz ECC memory to arrive.

What do you all think prices for SSD per GB will be holiday season 2011?
