MP 7,1 W5700X - Thuderbolt Accessory Update Not Working

So, I installed the new W5700X and every time I startup the Mac Pro, I get a pop-up to restart it for the accessory update... I've tried restarting, resetting PRAM, unplugging one monitor, etc. Still pops up... why?

I'm also noticing that Apple Mail keeps throwing the beach ball...?

mine came today. I plugged it straight in, as I'm mid project. and instantly noticed a lot of sticking, doing simple things. Like there is a bottle neck somewhere. It's odd. A lot of hangs, mouse missing in Adobe, but I think that's also a systemwide thing. Not spotted any drastic performance...
