Hi everyone,
if you were too chose the 3rd best mobile OS (being Android and iOS the first two, you choose the order :p) would it be Windows 8 and it's flat metro UI or Blackberry 10 and it's all-gesture interface.

WP8 has great potential and a nice UI but Microsoft never bothers to keep it up to date with the competition. It's been years and yet they still haven't even added a rotation lock for crying out loud.

BB10 is far younger but it's being developed at a much faster rate. The Android emulation also puts it ahead of WP8 in terms of app availability and it, like WP8, also performs great on hardware that's low spec compared to the flagship Androids.

Right now it's anyone's guess which will do better, they both only have a tiny portion of the worldwide smartphone market each. But IMO BB10 is the superior OS.

Agree with 0dev's assessment, although I have serious doubts that BB10 will be around in a year or two. Microsoft has the money to keep pouring into the platform. RIM barely has enough money to pay their own workforce and each quarter looks worse than the last financially.
Personally, I see Ubuntu becoming a driving force by the end of 2014. Another open source platform with tons of potential. (Better than the bastard of Android that Samsung is trying to push out called Tizen.)

I think bb10 is better off than wp8. Wp8 is not being developed as fast and it has taken years for it to barely get the app store it has now. At least with bb10, i belive in the next update they will be bringing it up to 4.2.2 runtime which is a higher version of android than most android phones are running.

either way, the more competition the better. forces everyone to produce innovation in order to compete
