A week or two ago i nearly made the "switch" to an mac with an imac g5 which a friend was selling, but i got put off by a poor looking screen....My alternative was buying a mini, but i I had been stalking macrumours.com for a week or two and I was waiting for the new upgraded mac mini's to be anounced by Steve......obvioulsy that didn't happen.....But the new imac's caught my eye :)
So i have decided to buy one.....the even better news is that my egg money card was approved today so as soon as that arrives i'm buying my first ever mac with the added bonus of getting 10% off !! Sweet.

Thanks to all for the advice.....

Not really sure I understood that last bit, but congratulations. These iMacs are the first ones that have really tempted me as a PowerBook owner (although I'm a sucker for cool stuff). Seems like a really great value, enjoy.

Good on you, my friend just ordered a new stock 17" iMac, he was amazed when I told him it was only £900. If I didn't need a laptop or have a big fat monitor, I'd buy an iMac like *that*.

What exactly is an egg money card? I get the expression egg money, but not the card bit with 10% off. Does that have something to do with a certain retail website?

I think egg cards are a credit card that are only available in the UK, so the offer only applies to the UK apple store,

Yep Egg cards are a brand of credit cards available in the UK.

Their new Egg Money card pays you interest if you put a positive balance on it - like a savings account and charges interest if your in debt (like a credit card).

They also give some good cashback deals - i.e. 10% at apple.com
