On my MBP, I'm having a problem where a certain 'wacky' font (I don't recognise it, anyone?) is appearing in several applications, making lots of webpages almost impossible to read etc. Does anyone know what's causing this? It's happening in my own Flash player (which is worrying) and happens a lot in Firefox, but never in Safari.

Anyone know how to fix this? Perhaps if I remove this font, the OS might revert to a more sensible default - does anyone recognise it? Thanks!

After scouring through the dozens of fonts my sister installed on my Mac, I found it, it's "Jungle". I don't know why this was appearing as the system font, but disabling it seems to have done the trick.

The trouble is, every time I re-enable it the problem recurs. I guess I'll just have to do without that font, though I'd rather just understand what's happening in the first place.

Sounds like FireFox has had its default font changed. Look in Firefox preferences.

It wasn't just happening in Firefox though, it appears intermittently in many different applications, it's just it's most obvious in Firefox.

Not too sure then sorry!

No, I appreciate any help, thanks! ;)

I think that somehow "Jungle" became the 'default' font, which is used as a default if the correct font isn't found. I tried using Spotlight to see if the font name is listed anywhere in any preference file, but couldn't find anything. Strange..
