Wacom: 4x6 or 6x11?

Yeah, I realize some of this is personal preference, etc.

I've been using a graphire 6x8 for a while and I've decided I like it enough to upgrade to an intuos. I just can't decide between the sizes. I use a 20" monitor right now with a possibility of upgrading to 23/24" in the future.

Main use is photoshop work, but I've been incorporating more drawn vectors into my work lately. Unfortunately, I don't have the steadiest hand, so... That kinda makes me think the smaller one would be better because it'd allow me to draw from the wrist more.

Any recommendations?

I'd go with the one that corresponds to the aspect ratio of your monitor, which you didn't specify. If you have a 4:3 tablet, and you're trying to draw a circle on on a 16:10 monitor, it's not going to come out perfectly round, because the x dimension of the tablet needs to cover more pixels than the y dimension does. Go with the one that mimics your monitor.

Both the 4x6 and 6x11 are part of their widescreen line-up. So...they both correspond (as well as anything will) with my widescreen monitor.

If you're using 6" now and like it, you will be most comfortable sticking with that factor. Even if you've set the Graphire to use only part of the surface to compensate for the wide screen, it's still a lot more area than what you would get from a 4" tablet.

The reason: even though the Intuos has higher resolution than the Graphire, your hand still has the same "resolution", if you know what I mean What do I mean Oh yes, I do know what I mean! With the smaller tablet, you'll need to draw smaller shapes to get the same thing on the screen, and that could make you all crampy if you're not accustomed to it.
