I have the first generation AirPods and they are starting to lose their battery life really fast. Most days I can get about 30 minutes before they beat in my ear while on a conference call. I should have probably updated these when they were on sale during Black Friday up until Christmas.

I know that Apple will most likely release a new version of these this year. Will it be in a month or will it be in 8....no one knows. I can continue to get by with what I have, yet I don't know how much longer they will last. With some of the rattle gate issues I have been reading about should I wait or should I just jump on a set on current AirPods pros now?

I have both, Pros are a big upgrade and the one tech item I would replace immediately (outside of a phone obviously) if I lost them even with new ones potentially coming.

I hear they are big improvements. Is it mostly sound? fit and feel? what else?

Everything is much better and I like the original AirPods (so I’m not putting them down). I would use original AirPods mostly for podcasts, talking on the phone, and casual music listening. I use the Pros for almost everything but being stationary (now that I have APM). Anything mobile whether it’s walking or working out. Fit is much better, sound is a huge upgrade....I didn’t like talking on the phone much until I started using Transparency mode, now it’s great (I didn’t like not being able to hear myself).

After trying almost countless combinations of headphones I finally found my perfect set up in Pros + APM. If next gen Pro is another upgrade....well, gravy.

I had gen 1 AirPods, gen 2 with wireless case, now I have the Pro. the sound quality difference is noticeable and worth it. ANC is great. fit is better. shorter stem is nicer. trade in your current ones to a seller for like $10 so you get at least something from it. and find a good deal on the pro, amazon had them for 199 recently. the next pro is gonna be in the fall so you'll have at least 9 months of use to look forward to

I will probably go to Apple directly to buy them as I have a hook up I know at the Apple store and I also have $50 in apple gift cards

Thanks everyone

Enjoy. Make sure you take the time to ensure you are using the proper tips. The fit guide will help you when you connect them.
