http://pocketnow.com/2016/09/06/galaxy-note-8-dual-boot-patent

Leaks of this caliber just arent wrong anymore w knew all the Note 7 specs months in advance and the iPhone 7 lack of 3.55 jack month ahead also

I was gonna ditch my Note 5 for a Note 7 then the Recall. No one will want a Note 7 the re-sale value in 6 months will be $100 bucks.

So I searched for Note 8 what the Speculation was and my Note 5 will last 11 more months.

For a Dual Boot Windows 10 and and Android 8 Experience. Its Simply a must have.

Looking at 8GB DDR4 RAM and a Snapdragon 830 CPU, the fact that the Note 7 share the Galaxy 820 CPU is kindof a sacrifical lamb.

Note 8 July-August 2017 Look for an Updated Release Schedule to make up for the Note 7 Disaster.

Dual Boot Windows 10, and Android 8
8GB LPDDR4X RAM uses 50% less power than RAM in Note 5 and 7
128GB Base model
5.8 inch 4K or 1440p OLED+ Display HDR
Water Proof
Dual Front and Dual Rear Cameras
Bluetooth 5.0
SnapDragon 830 CPU 10nm
5000mah battery
Ceramic or Aluminum back
Sapphire Glass (have you seen how easily the Note 7 scratches with gorilla glass 5)

Too bad it's Windows Phone and not Desktop. Dual booting Touchwiz and GPE would make more sense.

I don't know why but I just can't see this working if true, it would be good for windows phone and a feature I would find useful but the doubter in me sees something going wrong.

Specs dont matter. Iphone 6s has a dual core and only 2gb ram and it blows samsung's 4gb and quad core out of the water.

So? Nobody brought it up, sounds like you're trying to start an argument.

Well since YOU reacted (and they are entitled to an opinion, by the way) and made an issue out of it, I contest that YOU are trying to provoke an argument as your tone implies you're geared up for one... they're just stating facts; facts I agree with (and of course, my friend, you do not have to, we know that), and you obviously don't agree, so why not be an adult and drop it, ignore and carry on with your day.

Good points. But I wasn't trying to start an argument intentionally. I just found it annoying how this poster was defending Apple when nobody said anything against it in the first place. I'm not anti-Apple, it's true that they are better at a lot of things, I just think that people need to calm down.

Thanks pkginstall for coming to my defense

I'm simply stating a fact. My point was that specs don't matter and my evidence was that the iphone has only half of what Samsung has in terms of specs but it still is much faster. I'm not defending Apple from anything.

But relating to the topic, I would really hope this rumor is false because if Samsung actually made a phone that would dual boot windows...imagine how much that would cost..That'd be at least $1200 and theres no way I or most people would pay that much for a phone...and then imagine how much it would lag.

I am not too sure we will see that become a reality just yet. Not to mention, x86 isn't ready for primetime.

I don't think the patent is about running full Windows, but Windows Mobile.

That's even worse. Windows Mobile's app dearth is brutal. Windows' RAM management is the best in the business, but there isn't much to offer tbh.

Nah. Not interested in WindoZzze... {-,-} Zzz

I wanted the dual booter years ago with an Asus two in one. Google and Microsoft don't play nice with each other and it never was released. Now I hear Microsoft will end Lumia by December. Google and Microsoft should have teamed up years ago. Egos got in the way.

Windows 10 is fairly garbage on phones. I have a Lumia 640 and never updated to it after hearing all the problems. And I just prefer the look of 8.1 more. This Lumia would actually be my favorite phone now if it had Android. WP is smooth and fancy transition effects. But also not customizable and the app selection is crap. I have an 8.1 laptop too and I plan to switch to a Chromebook. Hate the Windows blue screen crap and whatever else error I get from Windows since the 1990's.

Microsoft is a joke at whatever they do. I love that Ballmer owns my Clippers but I don't like his company. Xbox One S looks cooler than a PS3 slim but hate the exclusives on it. Never liked Halo, Gears of War, or these endless FPS games. I could care less of 4K Blu-ray. This dual boot Note would've been interesting maybe three years ago but I will likely stick to Android mostly. WP is a waste of time. It never took off. Less than 1% marketshare. Microsoft put Nokia into a deeper hole the same way HP drowning Palm even deeper before Palm went belly up.

Can't wait when Nokia finally returns and gives us a proper Android phone. The 2017 Nokia Android is one I look forward to with curious eyes. Hopefully nothing like the Nokia X crap that was as laggy as a T-Mobile G1. I heard a rumor it might be dual boot too but I really don't care for Windows just like Xbox One's Scorpio..

Nokia (favorite OEM ever)
Motorola (a Lenovo company now)

I miss them both. The old them. Best reception and signal come from these mobile phone pioneers. My Lumia 640 would be my favorite phone if it had Android. Talking on it is like talking on a landline. Camera, battery life, and external speaker is all stellar for its price. Was planning to get a Nokia N9 a few days ago out of respect for Nokia before the seller canceled on me. N9 is a collector's item phone...

My current fav is the Moto E2. The one I am typing on right now. So comfortable to hold. Perfect size in height. Long battery life. The only phone I can text and use data in my room where my signal is weak. My other four phones can't and need to be near the window next to the door which is 15ft away from my bed. Dropped both before and not a single mark on either.

Motorola is another with tremendous build quality and fair prices too. The Atari of cell phones. I still can't forgive what Google did to Motorola. Tim Cook was correct that Google was never committed to Motorola. Google used them for patents to shield them from Apple lawsuits and then tossed Motorola aside to the Chinese after they were done with them.

Motorola and Nokia deserved better. Anyone seen the drop test of the Nokia 3310 from 900 feet? Or any drop test for that DROID Turbo 2 with that unbreakable glass? Don't you wish iPhone 7 and Note7 had that same display? Never forget the OGs in Motorola and Nokia. Respect.

Will never forgive Microsoft what they did to Nokia either. Yes, Nokia was already close to 6 feet underground by the time Elop got there but Microsoft made it 111x deeper. 666 feet underground. Microsoft is the devil and brought Nokia to hell. Google might lose Samsung someday. Might gain a once powerful ally in Nokia next year. Google better treat Nokia right unlike how they treated Motorola...

Here's my answer on Microsoft at anything...

You're repeating something that's simply wrong. Specs do matter even on iOS since it runs best on iPP 12.9 with 4GB DRAM while iPP 9.7 crashes from having only 2GB. iPhone 6S was upgraded to 2GB because 1GB on the iPhone 6 was deficient and caused excessive app and Safari browser tab reloads. iPhone 7 Plus is even rumored to get 3GB. iPhones haven't gotten iPad's limited form of split view task switching so more than 2 cores would just waste battery life. Android, particularly Samsung Galaxy devices, does background multitasking and foreground multitasking up to 6 apps so they can benefit from more cores and DRAM.
