Yesterday i was told i could get what i want more than likely though they could not tell me exact stock. Then the Store manager comes out this morning (9/16) and tells me, who is first in line, we don't have any 7+ models in stock. So i said I'd pass on the 7 and walked away. Anyone have a similar experience while trying to get the 7 Plus by waiting? I do know my story is not as bad as the guy in Austrialia who waited like 3 day but still i'll "probably get what i want" but then walked away empty handed with a "oh well" attitude from the verizon manager and staff.

This happened to me at the att store for the iPhone 6 launch. I vowed to never do this again as it was a mess. Not just I didn't get my phone, police were called for guys cutting in line. They should of handed out tickets, would of been much easier.

I swear I feel like Apple does this on purpose.... Keep people hungry.... Don't get me wrong it's a great strategy from a supply/ demand aspect.

Did anyone see the video today of Tim Cook waking into to CA Apple store and greeting customers? I wondered if they had any 7 Plus stock.

The Plus has not been easily obtained on release day for walk-ins since it became available with the 6 Plus. Why are folks even bothering waiting on a line? Color me confused.

Don't get mad at Apple, get mad at the klutz telling you that most would be able to get what they are waiting on line for release day.

Is anybody really surprised?

I still remember a few days after the launch of iPhone 4, Apple stores were randomly getting small shipments each day. The first day I waited 5 hours and was told that there was no delivery today I was very disappointed so I can only imagine your pain after waiting for 10 hours.

Sorry but if you really want a specific phone at launch, the only way to accomplish that is stay up late, or wake up early, to preorder the minute it drops.

Here's the issue: With each release following the 6/6 Plus, the percentage of people ordering the Plus models has increased. With the 7 series, the Plus orders are now outpacing the 7. Just because the Plus used to be harder to come by at launch in previous years doesn't mean that should always be the case. Apple needs to update their estimates and production accordingly. Apparently the planning was poor for both the sizes and colors, particularly the Plus and Jet Black.

Yes, how dare Apple not have a phone for you on release day.

Please link article that states plus orders are outpacing regular 7 orders.

Same thing happened at the Verizon store in my neck of the woods. Associates came out and said no 7+. I went from tenth in line to second because so many people left. Also about half of the line behind me left.

I waited for 12 hours (was first in line), I share your pain.

To the people asking why bother waiting in line when Apple said there would be no pluses, they were referring to Apple stores, not carrier stores. Now, granted, most carrier stores still didn't have an plus models, but a few did, judging from posts on here.

I went in expecting nothing so I'm not super pissed, just wish it had turned out differently. By the way I did try to pre-order and do it the right way but both Apple and Verizon pre-order systems did not work for me, due to problems with Apple and Verizon, not me.

I'm surprised that anybody actually waited in line for the plus model after what happened with online orders and after Apple basically said not to bother waiting in line for the plus model.

Why? I got mine this morning. 7+ Silver 32gb

Same thing happened at my store. Had only 6 people in line at 7:45. Came outside with tickets to fill out what you want, etc. I asked "you guys have all these available?" They said no plus models at all. I left as an older man was arguing with the associates over why they didn't have any. Everyone else left too. I know they said no Apple stores would have in stock, but they also mentioned their "partners" inventory would vary.

Because for some reason a lot of people on here just saw that statement and didn't bother to read the part where it said carrier and partner store supplies may vary, check with your local stores. Then they just tell everyone who says they are waiting that there's literally no store that will have plus models, which obviously isn't true, though the amount of carrier stores that did have them was very low it seems.

Pre-Order. How stinking simple is that?

I got mine today
I was up at 2am and tried, that would have been ideal, but it didn't work for me through Apple or Verizon.

But yes, if people can they should pre-order. I'd rather get up and sit on my PC for 30 minutes in the middle of the night that spend hours sitting in the cold outside a store.

It was made very clear by Apple that they would not have stock. There is no reason to believe resellers would either. I would never stand in line based on what the manager says unless he has the stock in hand. He clearly said he could not confirm stock.

Man. Even Apple store doesn't have 7+ in stock. This is totally your fault for not reading the news

It was made very clear that APPLE STORES would not have stock. In that same statement they said Carrier Stores MAY have models. That being said, nobody should have expected to get a +, even if they were first in line, as very few carrier stores had them. But some did.

Resellers order amounts from Apple and Apple has to fulfill those orders, they can't tell carrier stores that did order + models "oh yeah were taking those back". If the order wasn't placed yet Apple can move those phones where they want, but I'm guessing some carrier stores had their orders/contracts in soon enough for + models that Apple had to send some out to those carrier stores.
